Angular Mascot Designs by HOPR
Character Design | Graphic Design
While at HOPR, my team and I were tasked to design Angular's first mascot!
Inspired by the iconic Angular logo's shape and various animals around the world,
I illustrated character designs that best represented a friendly, helpful, and wise mascot.

Responsibilities include character design, color & clean up, and graphic design.

Early Concept Art
During the beginning stages of Angular's mascot design creation,
I explored five creature design categories: an Angular-shaped sprite, anglerfish, turtle,
alligator, and octopus. All had wise personality traits which I thought best fit a helpful and friendly mascot like Angie!
Picture
Variation of shaped characters that pull inspiration from Angular’s logo. These little sprites are abstract, sharp, and helpful.
Picture
The Anglerfish conjures bright ideas from their luminescent antenna- almost representing a lightbulb! This sea creature dates back to about 130-100 million years ago making them wise, adaptable, and resilient
Picture
Turtles are one of the oldest creatures on our planet. They are widely known to live up to more than 100 y/o making them wise and adaptable. Their shell can also represent Angular's shield logo
Picture
Alligators are another creature who have existed for hundreds of years and evolved to who they are today. This character has as a big, friendly smile and a big mouth that can spout many clever ideas! Angular logo shapes on stomach and scales.
Picture
Octopi are known to live long lives and are considered ancient creatures who date back millions of years ago. They're also super smart and can easily adapt in any environment. These designs have simple shaped bodies and have flexible limbs!
